Hi I’m Mette
And welcome to Botanical Print Alchemie – a place where nature and creativity merge in a deep co-creation. Behind the scenes, you'll find a passionate Scandinavian textile designer specializing in botanical dyeing and printing. My journey into botanical colors has been one of exploration, experimentation, and a profound connection with nature.
For years, I have researched ecoprinting with natural colors, uncovering the secrets of these vivid colors through thousands of experiments. This process has not only deepened my understanding of natural dyes, but has also reconnected me with the intuitive creativity we all carry within us. Nature holds an immense, often hidden wisdom, and working with botanical colors is an invitation to tap into that knowledge – to observe, to listen, and to create.
Nature’s rhythms: a path to balance and creativity
My fascination lies in nature’s cyclical rhythms, its ability to heal, balance, and guide us back to our true essence. Botanical printing is not just about technique; it’s about rediscovering curiosity, embracing the unexpected, and allowing the process to unfold organically. In this work, there are no failures—only stepping stones leading to new discoveries.
When we journey with the plants and the natural colors, we are invited to let go of the fear of failure and instead embrace exploration and experimentation with an open, playful mindset Let’s see what happens if we try this.
This approach extends beyond botanical printing; it becomes a way of being in life, where failure doesn’t truly exist. Every experiment, every result, is simply another stepping stone leading to the next discovery
From tradition to innovation
With a background as a senior lecturer in textile design at university colleges in Denmark and England, and years of experience teaching botanical printing, I have guided countless students in unlocking the potential of natural dyes. My research has led me to crack key formulas for achieving vibrant, crisp ecoprints, blending tradition with innovation to push the boundaries of the craft.
I know how frustrating it can be to search for answers, to test endless methods without achieving the desired results. That’s why I created Ecoprint Next Level—a structured approach to botanical printing that shares the essential techniques I spent years refining.
Whether you are just beginning your journey with natural colors or already have experience, I invite you to explore the magic of botanical printing with me.
